Running in the Florida Sun
It is 97 degrees outside today. It is the kind of hot that keeps you sealed up in your nice cold air conditioning. I'm a native Floridian but every summer you act as though it has never been hotter and surely this must be the hottest summer on record. It's not, it just feels that way. Today I attempted a 5 mile run. Came out to be a four mile run. I'm still rather impressed with that as I suck down my extra large Crystal Light lemonade inside my cool house. I laughed along the road today with the sweat dripping down my back thinking about January. When we have a 50 degree day, I'm out there bundled up wishing the cool front would just hurry and get going. I think if I waited for the perfect weather and conditions I would only get in 3 runs per year. There are a million reasons NOT to run today but I'm thankful that I at least found one reason to do it. Now back to my Crystal Light.
